As part of the 27th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the University of Rizal System Angono (URSA), Smart Air Philippines, together with the university and LIKHANGUNO organization, launched the Project: Breathe Safe Hang In Exhibit on November 15, 2023. The exhibit aimed to raise awareness about air pollution and its harmful effects on human health and the environment.
The Hang In Exhibit showcased a collection of artworks created by the youth volunteer artists who participated in the Smart Air Philippines’ mural painting activity which took place in May 2023. The exhibit served as a platform for the artists to express their concerns about air quality and encourage viewers to take action to protect the environment.
During the launching event, Shelumiel Beltran, a clean air advocate from Smart Air Philippines, highlighted the importance of celebrating National Clean Air Month and Environmental Awareness Month. He emphasized the need for collective action to address air pollution, which has become a significant environmental and health issue in the Philippines.
The Hang In Exhibit ran for three days, providing students and faculty members with an opportunity to engage with thought-provoking artworks and learn more about air pollution.
The exhibit also featured interactive elements that encouraged visitors to reflect on their own contributions to air pollution and explore ways to reduce their environmental impact.
On the last day of URSA’s founding anniversary celebration, Smart Air Philippines successfully conducted its Clean Air Workshop as part of the Project: Breathe Safe Hang In initiative.
The workshop, attended by student council members of URSA, provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of air pollution, its sources, and its effects on human health and the environment. The workshop also discussed practical measures that individuals and communities can take to reduce air pollution and promote clean air initiatives.
